Belarusbank to Offer Cryptocurrency Exchange Service

The largest financial institution in Belarus, Belarusbank has announced that it has partnered with Whitebird infrastructure to offer clients the option to purchase and sell cryptocurrency. Belarusbank is a state-owned bank, with 99.95 percent of shares owned by government.

Users in Belarus and Russia will be able to exchange cryptocurrency using a Visa payment card. They will also have the ability to trade crypto against fiat currencies including the Belarusian ruble, the Russian ruble, the euro and the United States dollar.

Initially, this new service will be offered to residents of Belarus and Russia, with plans to expand to additional countries in time. The launch of this service comes shortly after Belarusbank announced its commitment to digitally transform their business model a few years ago.
