Sam's experience across the private, public, and philanthropic sectors has given him a versatile set of skills, passions, and perspectives that he brings to his work as a communications specialist at Cartan. Prior to his career in strategic comms, Sam was a journalist, serving stints at The Economist and NPR among others. He has ghostwritten multiple published books, consulted on narrative development for several Fortune 500 companies and startups, and served as an analyst for both the US government and XPRIZE Foundation. Sam speaks four languages proficiently and is endlessly curious about the forces that shape the world, including technology, finance, and government. He holds an MBA from UCLA Anderson School of Management, an MPP from UCLA Luskin School of Public Affairs, and a BA in History from the University of Michigan. He is originally from Detroit and loves cheering on his hometown teams.
